ABANDONED MINE DRAINAGE (AMD) 

2001
Awarded an additional grant of $100,000 from the EPA for further remediation at the Scrubgrass site.  Work began in the Spring of 2001.
1999
The Scott Conservancy obtained an additional grant for $50,000 from the DEP to install a mechanical aeration system to increase the efficiency of the procedure at the Scrubgrass Run AMD site.
1995
Scrubgrass Run Abandoned Mine Drainage Project:
The original Grant for the Scrubgrass Run Abandoned Mine Drainage (AMD) project was obtained in 1995 from the DEP.  The grant was for $62,000.  Additional  funding for the project was obtained from Scott Township, the Office of Surface Mining, The Scott Conservancy, and the Heinz Endowments.

LAND ACQUISITION 

2005
Recipient of a land acquisition grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to acquire 5.8 acres of land adjacent to the Kane Woods.
 
2004
Wal-Mart gave the conservancy two grants totaling $1500 for Kane Woods tree planting and land acquisition.
2001
The Pittsburgh Foundation gave the conservancy a grant of $50,000 for land acquisition.  It was used to match the Growing Greener Grant.
2001
The Scott Conservancy received a $474,000 Growing Greener Grant from Pennsylvania for land acquisition.   
2001
The Laurel Foundation gave the conservancy a grant of $40,000 to be used to match the Growing Greener Grant for land acquisition.

 

IMPROVEMENT

2006
Awarded a $5,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Economic Development Grant to make improvements to the Kane Conservation Area.
2006
The Scott Conservancy along with the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy received a grant from the Dept. of Community and Economic Development for $5,000 to do work on the traffic islands at the intersections of Cochran and Greentree Roads. Improvements will be made to the landscaping on the island.
 
2005
The Laurel Foundation awarded us a $13,000 grant for Kane Woods development.
1999
The Scott Conservancy along with the Mt. Lebanon Nature Conservancy received a grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for $10,000 to do work on the traffic islands at the intersections of Cochran and Greentree Roads.  The moneys were used to purchase more nursery stock and install landscape cloth and wood chips.

RECREATION

2007
The Pennsylvania Organization of Watersheds and Rivers (POWR) gave us a grant of $2000 to use for a canoe sojourn on Chartiers Creek.
2006
The Pennsylvania Organization of Watersheds and Rivers (POWR) gave us a grant of $2000 to use for a canoe sojourn on Chartiers Creek.
2005
The Pennsylvania Organization of Watersheds and Rivers (POWR) gave us a grant of $1500 to use for a canoe sojourn on Chartiers Creek.
